How do I know if I’m ready for a custom web design?

If you are completely new to websites, we generally recommend you start with the Create My New Website package. This package will get you familiar with having a web presence and teach you how to write content for the web. This entry level package will also generate feedback from your patients and customers and give you a sense of how you can tailor your website to their needs.

Once you’ve established this foundation in websites, we do recommend most of our customers begin to think about custom design. If you do not have a “brand” for your business, this is the next step. We can help you create a logo, color scheme and marketing message that will help your prospects more quickly identify what you do and how you can help them. What’s the process for creating my design?

Here’s the step by step process for how we work together to create your design.

  1. We’ll first have a conversation about your business and talk about your goals.
  2. Next we’ll give you design examples from different web designers we have on staff. You can tell us which designs you like best and that will tell us which designer to use for your project.
  3. If you do not have a logo or “brand” for your business, we’ll start with designing a logo and color scheme that works well for you.
    • Based on our conversations, our designer will create a series of possible logos.
    • You’ll be able to review the logos and which ones you like best.
    • This back and forth will continue for several rounds until you are thrilled with your new logo.
    • You’ll be able to use this logo on your website, invoices, business cards and all marketing material. If you need business cards or other designs, we can do those for you as well.
  4. Our web designer will take the information we gathered from our first conversation combined with your logo and brand to create the first composition (or as designers call them, a comp). We’ll show you this first comp to make sure we’re on the right track. We’ll collect your feedback on what you like about the comp and what you’d like to see different.
  5. The designer will now update the comp (or create a new one altogether if he or she did not get it right the first time). You’ll have a chance to provide feedback again. This process continues until you’re thrilled with your new design.
  6. Once you’ve approved the design, next we create the HTML, CSS, and JavaScript code that makes up a website. This is called “cutting the HTML” by web developers.
  7. Once we have the “cut HTML”, we’ll integrate this with the Wordpress application. Wordpress will allow you to keep your site content current. See the Frequently Asked Questions description for more on Wordpress.
  8. If your website is not currently on Wordpress, we’ll move all of your website copy over to your new website. We will also give you suggestions and make improvements to any web copy you have.
  9. We host and hand over your website to you. We’ll have a conversation about the future and your road map for continually evolving your website.
  10. We’ll follow up with you in 2-3 months (if not sooner) to see how your website is working for you, what response you’ve received from your patients and what success stories you can tell us.

How much does this cost?

The base price for the custom design is $1895. Logos are $495 and Business Cards are $395. We ask for a 50% deposit up front when starting a new custom design project.

Domains cost $20 per year and hosting costs $7.99 per month.

What if I don’t like the website and its not everything you’ve said it is?

We believe in our work and have had excellent feedback. If you are not thrilled with any of our web designer’s comps, we’ll refund any deposit we have received from you. If you have approved a design and want to cancel at a later time, we cannot refund the deposit, but will not charge you for the full cost of the project.
